Welcome to Abura Technical Institute

Abura Technical Institute is a public technical and vocational education institution operating under the Ghana TVET Service of the Ministry of Education in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region. Established in April 1999 as the Youth Leadership and Skills Training Institute, the school was founded through collaboration between World Vision Ghana, the Ahanta West District Assembly and the Abura Community.

Today, the Institute serves day and boarding learners across six main technical and vocational programmes, alongside short-term NVTI Proficiency pathways. Classroom instruction is combined with hands-on workshop practice to equip learners with industry-relevant knowledge, practical skills and entrepreneurial competencies for employment, self-reliance and national development.

Admission is open to BECE graduates and applicants pursuing National Proficiency programmes through the NVTI pathway. Regular programmes are delivered under the Government of Ghana’s Free TVET Programme, with both day and boarding options available.
